The Fall 2016 issue of Block Magazine is out. As always, this one is packed with stories inspired by the creative life of cities. In fact, many of the stories reminded us of Jane Jacobs’ concept of “knowledge spillovers,” which we referenced in the very first issue of Block three years ago. Jacobs’ idea was that it’s the informal sharing of ideas and information that creates vibrant cities.
Inside the mag, you can learn about how Allied Properties REIT designed the King Law Chambers to inspire the kind of collaboration not previously found in legal cubicle farms, how skateboards literally keep ideas moving at Montreal’s Moment Factory and how Allied, RioCan and DiamondCorp are teaming up to develop a mixed-use building that will create a dynamic dialogue between work, life and leisure.
